Contingent Contract II

Contingent Contract II employees are salaried employees typically on temporary funding, but occasionally on continual funding (i.e. service worker position). A contingent contract must be created outlining all of the available benefits and specifically listing the retirement stipend, if given. Contingent II contracts are initiated as of the first day of work and must conclude at the end of the upcoming fiscal year end. (i.e.start date on contract is 04/1/17 with an end date of 6/30/17) All contracts are renewed at the beginning of each fiscal year.

Contingent II Employees:

Contingent II employees can be exempt or non-exempt status depending on the position description.

Under this category, employees are:

  1. Offered subsidized health insurance (direct-pay)
  2. Can be offered retirement stipend (exempt positions)
  3. Receive leave accrual
  4. Will be assigned an email address
  5. Can be assigned keys
  6. Will receive a University ID
  7. Will appear on website

*State funded CII employees have a three-year limit beyond which they have to be moved to a permanent state line.
